Salt flats route
The salt flats route is one of the excursions with landscapes taken from another world, the immensity of the places, the blue sky, the distance and the height combined with unique geological structures and dreamy landscapes transfer to a new world any visitor that achieves get to this paradise lost in the middle of the Andes. Along the route we will have diverse landscapes without equal as the majestic volcano Licancabur, the bofedal of Quepiaco, crystal lagoon, viewpoint of the Monks of the Pacana, the immaculate Monks of the Pacana, viewpoint salar aguas calientes and lunch in town.
During the tour we will begin an abrupt ascent to the heights to reach 4000 meters above sea level and have breakfast in front of the imposing Licancabur volcano, after this we continue along the road until we reach the bofedal of Quepiaco where it is possible to see unique fauna in such an inhospitable environment. We continue along the road until we reach an artificial lagoon with a beautiful landscape in the background and then we continue to the viewpoint of the Monks of the Pacana, after this viewpoint we will visit the Monks of the Pacana, geological structures with unusual shapes in the middle of nowhere. Due to the conservation restriction of CONAF, the Cathedrals sector and the Salar de Tara are closed.
After the monks we will visit the viewpoint of Salar aguas calientes 1 and finally we will have a delicious lunch in town at our return.
Recommendations: Go with light and warm clothes in layers, hat and sunscreen, footwear for wild soil and at least 1 liter of water per person. Having rested well and not going with a hangover.
Hours: We pick up from 08: 00-08: 30 from the hotels and return at approximately 5:00 p.m.
