Altiplanicas lagoons and Piedras Rojas

The Altiplanic Lagoons correspond to two lagoons that are located in the foothills of the Andes, one called Miscanti and the other Miñiques. The landscape that surrounds them makes this destination an unmissable place given its beauty in the middle of the highlands. The colors and contrast of the place amaze all travelers who visit it, making this one of the must-see tours to do in San Pedro de Atacama.

The tour begins with our breakfast at the Tropic of Capricorn where we can take beautiful pictures and enjoy a delicious breakfast in the middle of the desert. Then we continue to the town of Socaire where we check in to the parks and they can also use the restrooms. We continue towards the altiplano to enter the park of Lagunas Miscanti and Miñiques where we stayed for up to 2 hours while hiking in the park admiring the beauty of the place. Leaving this park we go to the famous Piedras Rojas, a place that was closed for more than 4 years and can be visited again today. The walk from this place is about 1 one and it is usually moderate to strong wind most of the time.

At the end of this visit we go to another place in the highlands to enjoy a delicious hot lunch with a beautiful view of the mountains and the highlands. Post lunch we return to your hotels.

Recommendations: Go with light and warm clothing, ideally in layers since we will have cold hours and others with more heat, hat and sunscreen, footwear for wild soil and at least 1 liter of water per person.

Schedule: The schedule will always be with a pick-up between 08:00 from the hotel and a return at approximately 17:30.

Maximum height of the excursion will be 4200 meters above sea level
